Auction details not showing

Postby JeffStaniforth » Tue Nov 29, 2011 12:14 pm

Hi,

The auction details has stopped showing up in the auction details. It was working a couple of days ago.

See: http://www.abodedomains.com/

Navigate to auction via top menu... And you should see that the descriptions are not showing up.

You can also use the left hand menus to see auction in a post.

Like I was saying... this was working a couple of days ago.

Please advise.

Regards
Jeff

Can you post a direct link please? I can't find "auction" anywhere in your menu. Thanks.

Hi,

http://www.abodedomains.com/business-in ... ecommerce/

When you select Bid you don't get any description or other details.

NOTE: These details are in the database.

Hi,

I think it's because you may have installed a plugin that is loading another copy of jQuery, an older version, even though the theme is already calling it once. So you have two versions of jQuery running, which is most probably causing the issue.

Could you disable any plugins you may have installed in the last couple of days and let us know if that helps?

Thanks.

P.S - Our plugin is designed to not load any scripts, like jQuery, if it's already been called once by either the theme or a preceding plugin. However, this is not always the case with other free/paid plugins.

I'm seeing this at the very end of your source code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"></script>

Did you by any chance edit any of your theme files with that? The latest version of jQuery is 1.6.1, which your theme is loading at the very top, however this older version, 1.3.2, is loading at the very bottom.

Hence the conflict.

If you remove that piece of code your auctions should show.

Hi Hyder,

I did modify "custom_functions.php". I was directed to do it when setting up the flyout menus.

It is the section that start with:

/* --------------------------------------------------- */
/* FUNCTIONS FOR THE VERTICAL MULTILEVEL DROPDOWN MENU */
/* Created by Mike Nichols - Oct 6, 2009 */
/* --------------------------------------------------- */

Hi Hyder,

Ouch... I just checked the flyout menu script does use:

text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js

Does that mean I cant use the flyout menus?

Chances are you don't need the extra reference to jQuery, since it's being loaded above it should still work.

Go ahead and remove it, save the file and refresh your page. I'm 99% sure the fly out menus should still work.
